Sorry I wasn't very clear.

My point was that no one during his career (starting in 1994) or since his career ended has scored as many points in their career. The next highest record was set in 1989-92.

Obviously, there are many excellent players who didn't have high scoring careers or played on teams that had more balanced scoring. I don't think it takes away at all though from setting a record that has stood as long as it has.

Ok so by the logic you're trying to use, Dan Marino sucks and Trent Dilfer was a god, just because his team won it all.

Karl Malone or Charles Barkley, worthless bums. Bob Hansen, well he won a championship, so he's great.

Extreme examples, but come on. A player can be a great player and not be on a championship team. Just like no names, people with little talent (compared to others) can be on winning teams.

Its fine to say the goal is to win a state championship. However if you win a regional and then lose, that doesn't mean you didn't have a great year. That mentality is what gets people going into the job market thinking they are going to get the top job, why, because they want it and not realize that maybe they have to work their way up or *gasp* realize that while the $70,000 job isn't Bill Gates money, its not bad. That doesn't mean you stop trying to earn more, but you also don't sit there and say nope I can't take your job, its' not President of the company and anything less sucks.

You guys read one post and go nuts...read the whole thread...I'm pretty sure I stated in this thread that there are exceptional players on non-championship teams. But, if someone wants to brag about thier all-world talents over the past so many years, back it up with somethin besides district and regional trophies.

Sorry, but your point is moot, since not every athlete in our region that excels at his/her sport ever make it to state. That's the whole point.

I know what you are trying to say... I wasnt trying to be a jacka** about it all....haha. That one player you are talking about that is runnerup to Stacy in the alltime list... I believe it is still Odell Hodge from Laurel Park who went on to play at Old Dominion University.

He is another example of a team kind of being one dimensional... Laurel Park was very tough in the '90s winning the state once for sure but they went to the State Quarterfinals in Charlottesville (when they were still held there) every year that he was there that I remember. He was the go-to guy for them as well. Who wouldnt go to a guy that was 6'9 or 6'10....I know that I wouldnt have cared to have seen one this year on a couple of teams....haha.
